Lantana

The first time I saw the lantana plant I was drawn to it because of it's vibrant Brady Bunch colour (orange and pink ... so 70s!) flowers. I bought one. I killed it. I tried again the following summer. That one lived through the summer but never flowered. Third time's the charm. Here's how two lantana plants look as of potting on this day. I hope that in a couple of months from now I can have another post here with my success story with a big colourful lantana.

PS. This plant is a perrenial and grows as an obnoxious weed-like plant in warmer climates like Texas.

Turtle Trail

Lots of turtles chillaxin' along Petrie Island's Turtle Trail on this overcast day. Appropriately named.

Blind Melon

All I can say is that my life is pretty plain. I like watching the puddles gather rain.

Achoo!

I love the trees and especially the lilac bushes but they really hate me at this time of the year. Pass the tissues please.

You otter know....

I thought he was a beaver...but when he swam away I realized it was an otter. At least I think it was. What do I know... I'm a city girl.

Blinded by the light

I get quite a blast of blinding sun through my living room window as it starts to set each day. No batteries in the real camera(s) so I snapped a quickie with the iPhone. I took it through the screen again because I sorta like the texture it gives to the photo. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Snowballs

First full day of spring provided us with some sloppy, wet, heavy snow.... The kind that's good for making snowballs as Sheldon found out on his walk.

March Madness

Precipitation madness going on this March. One of the wetter ones I've seen: rain one day, snow the next. Ice everywhere one day and giant lakes the next. This reflection was in the puddle I was standing in while waiting for a bus on Bank Street today.

That pine tree. Again.

Sheldon keeps walking me under this pine tree. While he sniffs and does his business I have nothing to do...so yet another shot. It had really cool icicles on one clump of its branches.... as if it wasn't quite sure what season we are.

An almost spring-like day

Sheldon took me for a walk and we always wind up under the big pine trees. Today their icicles were melting and dripping from the heat of the sun. Spring, I feel your presence!
