It's very striking on you
I scanned this photo into my Ronco Graffiti Translator and it says something to the effect of: "get back to work you overpaid, lazy buggers". That they did. Today, after being legislated back to work.
Seen my cellphone?!?
Lord knows where Mavis dropped it (again!?!) #SenilityIsHard.
PS. Paint daubs filter is fun to play with.

Jan as Cartoon Photo Journalist
We have a piper down! *
Slight accident at Bank & Gloucester where it appears a man was hit by a car. He seemed okay though as they loaded him into the ambulance.

Street Wars
Ok Charlie, swing that big bucket thing over here, dig up some dirt there, drop the dirt over here. I'm just going to watch and try not to get too dirty and sunburned over here. #StreetGameFun

Quit clowning around!
Clearly Zan has recovered from his coulrophobia as he is all smiles and chuckles with his new bff Ronnie!
Downtown Garden Fun
Nicely manicured place, I bet these are retired web folks who worked really hard all of their careers and are now happy to collect their sizable pensions and spend it on green leafy things. #RetirementIsBliss

Chocoholic
I may or may not have bought too much Easter chocolate when it went on sale after the fact. I'm still opening Easter chocolate 2 months later.
Yee Old Saloon
This building looks like an old saloon from when the cowboys were around. And just for fun, let's rotate this one just a smidge.

Walk Softly and Carry a Big Stick
Sheldon went to the Conroy Pit and all I got was this picture of a random dog carrying a stick as big as she was!

The end of an era
What a shock to walk into Mexicali Rosa's and find it was now Rosa's Cantina. The Mexi's franchise is in a horrible state of disrepair (and has been for a few years) with only one location left in Ottawa. Luckily Rosa's Cantina was the original Mexi's in Ottawa and they've kept the same great menu and quality Mexican food. (Unlike the Hunt Club Mexi's which is now known as the Twisted Lizard and looks like psuedo tex-mex pub type food. I predict it goes the way of Rick's Cantina which took over another Mexi's location a few years ago.)
PS: From the Mexicali Rosa's Web site... a little history:
"The fiesta began in 1979,
when Clyde Ross opened Rosa’s Cantina in Ottawa. Clyde, a young American from Los
Angeles, found the Ottawa food scene, well, bland. He passionately missed the aromas
and flavours of Mexican food – the food he had grown up with. Clyde took the toro by the
horns and with his wife Iona, his brother Joe, and Iona’s cousin, Grace Mulvey, opened the
first Mexican restaurant in Eastern Ontario. Guests raved about this new food experience
and soon the lineups stretched down the street. Expansion came quickly and naturally, as
everyone loved the colourful, down-to-earth food and the fun Mexican atmosphere. Many
of those original guests still dine at Mexicali Rosa’s, served by some of the same staff! It
seems people never tire of a great thing.
The next milestone year was 1988. The original restaurants were renamed Mexicali Rosa’s
and the first franchise opened in Orleans, Ontario, under the direction and encouragement
of the newly formed Mexicali Rosa’s Franchise Company. Since then, the Franchise
Company has opened new restaurants in Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes."

Advertising works because yes, people (not me) do actually eat the very interesting Double Down chicken sandwich from KFC.

Pass me the squeegee
Reflections in a big (kinda dirty) glass window. I absolutely love this photo, not because it's a good picture, but because of the facial expressions. Zan is being his zany self and Jan is enjoying it! Wonder twin powers, activate! If only they'd clean the window on this building....

Strep Throat
Not really, but it sounds like it. It is a purple streptocarpus plant. It's in the violet family but is supposedly easier to grow. I've had it a couple of weeks and it's produced two new flowers. I'm calling it a success. So far. :)
Damn U, Wil Wheaton!
Damn you Wil Wheaton! for taking Mavis shopping again. She was specifically told to cut spending!!?!

Double the happy
A cup of SB extra hot chocolate is a cup of happy all on it's own. But we have a perky barista who draws a smiley on the cup to double the happy.

Soft puppy, warm puppy, little ball of fur
I like the softness of this photo. (Jimmy lens, and AO b/w film in the Hipstamatic app.) He looks so angelic. Really though he was in the midst of a hyper-spaz... biting and barking and generally full of beans. Timing is everything when it comes to the moving target we call Sheldon.
