The Institution

On a bad day it sure can feel like an institution. This kept moving around my floor at work today... someone has a sense of humour.

Calling all ornithologists

They grow 'em big here in the East end.

Purple Chooze

Saw these purple bad boys at the store the other day, immediately thought of my pal, Justin Beaver (How did he get that nickname?!?)

Homeowners Helping Home Owners

A fire that started in the basement of the Home Hardware on Beechwood Avenue March 16th resulted in the entire building being torn down.

Guacamole

Psych! You thought this would be all about luscious green avocados mixed with onions and tomatoes and lime juice and what have you. Nope, it's a yarn colour called guacamole that screamed at me to be knitted into a dishcloth.

PS: Zan, is this better than the dumpaversary photo that was intended for today's pic? :P

Surreal? Not sure.. Playing with colours..

Blinded by the light

I get quite a blast of blinding sun through my living room window as it starts to set each day. No batteries in the real camera(s) so I snapped a quickie with the iPhone. I took it through the screen again because I sorta like the texture it gives to the photo. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Moving Target

Tried to capture the moving target at play. Hard to do on a good day but low light indoors makes it even more of a challenge.

Your days are numbered

Orleans people are so wacky.

Haddock Dinner

Had a nice Haddock with Asparagus dinner, with lemon (and dill) of course.. Didn't take a lot of time to setup the shot and it shows.

Snowballs

First full day of spring provided us with some sloppy, wet, heavy snow.... The kind that's good for making snowballs as Sheldon found out on his walk.

My Spot

This is my spot. This is my spot where I wait for my bus. This spot is directly in front of the second door to the bus station, but is close enough to the stairs, should there be a need for evactuation. This is the spot where the bus stops, the doors open, and I fight for my seat. This is the spot that gives the advantage. There is no better spot.

The tree stands alone

A lonely tree in the Mer Bleue Bog.

Tree focused

I like the perspective on this shot. It's fun to play with focus.

I am presuming I can park here, provided I don't park upside down.

Forrest Through the Trees

Good times on the Mer Bleue Photowalk today. What a great day to get outside and exercise and talk to fellow Nikon enthusiasts. Lots out there on the trail today. #fun

Do the (retro) potty dance

AGFA high processing to give this the retro feel it deserves. One doesn't see too many blue toilets anymore. They kinda went out of fashion in the 70s but I swear if I could have a blue toilet (and tub and sink) I would!

Jan and Zan at the good ole hockey game

Zan and Jan enjoyed themselves at Scotiabank Place even though Crosby was concussed and Malkin was out and the Sens still got their asses kicked by the Pens.

Yo queiro taco bell

Taco Bell continues to impersonate Mexican food by adding Salsa Verde to its arsenal of sauces...for a limited time only.

Better Days

I always wonder about the lives lived when I see these dilapidated buildings...what went on when they saw better days....

This is photo of the day because the nice little amish man selling baked goods on the side of the road out of his buggy wouldn't let me take his picture. Though he appreciated that I asked first.

March Madness

Precipitation madness going on this March. One of the wetter ones I've seen: rain one day, snow the next. Ice everywhere one day and giant lakes the next. This reflection was in the puddle I was standing in while waiting for a bus on Bank Street today.

Breakfast for Supper

As an adult I can eat breakfast for dinner whenever I choose. I can eat Doritos for breakfast or ice cream for supper if I so desire. All the discussion about Shrove Tuesday made me want pancakes in a bad way.
