Greasy spoon
An Ottawa institution. I think it's been around since the 50s and I think the sign is original but I just realized that the neon is now gone from the sign. (See the holes where it used to go?) It's lost a little of its former glory....
Dose of Happy I
This actually turned out to be a neat shot. That sign is pretty spectacular. Did you see that metal? :)
Would be a nice shot with the better camera on a sunny day.

Butt out
A vintage ashtray and his wicker friends sitting on the curb, presumably looking for a new home. A scene like this begs for the iPhone Hipstamatic app to give it that funky 60s-70s vibe.

The work day starts now
Productivity in the workplace only ramps up post-SB run. Make mine a grande hot chocolate, extra hot please. Don't forget the mocha drizzle. (I never noticed the warning on the straw wrapper before I took this photo.)
MVP Hockey Trophy II
In celebration of nemo's awesome 2010/11 Hockey season, winning a tournament, MVP, player of the game, 25 goals, 7 assists. So proud.
He also helped me light this scene as well as added to the concept (thanks!) Was playing with placement of studio lights. It takes quite a bit of thought, once you get going. Pressing "on" isn't exactly all that is needed. The remote for the camera is really helpful.

Deh-zig-wahl with Jan II
Ok, same shot, processed. I think the shots taken with blackberry (c) don't capture the same depth or quality, therefore processing is less of an issue. I am just guessing at this point.

That pine tree. Again.
Sheldon keeps walking me under this pine tree. While he sniffs and does his business I have nothing to do...so yet another shot. It had really cool icicles on one clump of its branches.... as if it wasn't quite sure what season we are.
Morning balcony February I
So I love the colours in this one. Woke up early, saw the light coming over the horizon. Amazing sight.

Goo Goo Dolls Street Notice
What a fun concert. Now if only the lighting guys would learn to move the high powered strobes out of the crowd's face, that would be more than awesome.
Steven Page was fun too, except awfully weird. Great photos in the lobby after the show though, classy.
Fred the plant gnome
Fred sure does work up a sweat as he tends to the hoya plant. Poor Fred... but he could have it worse. He could have to work through his "fucking lunch" and be trailed by a commissionaire as he tries to earn an honest living.

Rideau Canal
The Mackenzie King Bridge area of the canal does not make for the best photo ops this year... there is so much construction going on in that area.... debris everywhere.

Keep Arm In
You don't see these stickers much on the OC Transpo buses anymore. Back in the day they were on every window because the windows actually opened allowing for airflow on the hottest days. Now they claim the buses have a/c which they rarely seem to run, but I digress. Seeing this sticker on my bus the other night brought back a memory of a time long ago when I saw a punk who had these stickers plastered all down the arm of his studded leather jacket. I remember being highly amused and wanting to marry him.

Jan and that Naked Man
Steven Page after his opening set for the Goo Goo Dolls at the NAC.

Got milk?
Farm Boy makes the world's best chocolate cupcake. I kid you not. (Bonus point for putting star sprinkles on them.) Better make sure you have an ice cold glass of milk to drink with it. (Yeah, that's right... MILK, screw that lactose intolerance situation!)

Grandma on board
A friend requested one of my knitted dishcloths. I can barely knit but it's always fun to try and I love to work with cotton yarns, so a dishcloth is an obvious choice for me. This is a basic dishcloth pattern from Bernat worked up in Westport Ombre. I should whip up some to sell when Zan starts his craft shows.

One ringy dingy
Remember when a phone was just a phone and Superman could change in one of these on every street corner?

Never a dull moment
Just a little action outside of my office. 4 police cars, 2 paramedics, 1 firetruck. And in what appears to be unrelated, a milk truck.

Jacket logo fun
This logo was on the back of some guy's winter jacket when I was on the bus the other day. It looks like a dinosaur!
Why I hate working from home.... :)
That's the thing with puppies, you have to watch them constantly. I turn my back for maybe 10 minutes to eat some lunch and look what happens. I guess Sheldon was hungry too. :) (He must've known he was in trouble because this is the only time he has ever sat still for a photo!)
