Hair in the cornbread comes back to haunt Joey

A long time ago I went to Joey's Only in Fallingbrook and got a hair in my cornbread. Ew. I never went back. But fast forward to after I moved and lived within walking distance...it was hard not to go back...convenience is everything. No more hair in my cornbread but they started off the New Year with a bailiff sign on the door. Woops.

Another one bites the dust

I only heard the news while I was on Christmas vacation that Cathay, an Ottawa institution of sorts closed its doors after 64 years. It is the third Chinese restaurant I've liked to close or change ownership in the past few years. Since there are only about 5 that I like that is significant. Cathay and Hung Fatt are both history and the Dragon changed owners and has not been the same since. Lets hope Lucky House and Charlie Chan can hang on.
